Child Exploitation Tool

This indicator tool aims to help practitioners focus on specific exploitation indicators and determine whether further investigations are needed by Children’s Social Care (CSC) and Bedfordshire Police.

Once you have completed this form, send it to:

CSC are responsible for assessing the level of risk to children. Should the referral not meet CSC’s threshold, other support options will be considered including early help and referrals to appropriate support services. Where child exploitation is suspected the worker should complete a MASH referral form (attaching this form) and Multi-Agency Information Submission Form (If required).

If you suspect anyone is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.

Multi-Agency Information
Submission Form

Have you seen or heard something suspicious but not sure about what to do with the information? Have you seen something which doesn’t feel right but you are not sure what the issue is? Do you believe an adult or child is showing signs that they could be being exploited?

This is a multi-faceted form for submission of a range of information.

It is NOT a substitute for a safeguarding referral(s) and should not be utilised for referral purposes.

Any safeguarding referrals should continue to be submitted to the relevant safeguarding hub.

However, consideration should be given to an MA form also being submitted to the Police, detailing any perceived useful and valuable information contained within the referral(s).

Criminal activity should be reported via 101, or 999, as appropriate to the situation.
